I took a chance on this book and was very happy that I did. The book takes it’s time to get moving but when it does there’s no stopping. It has a very imaginative story line and all the characters are woven into it excellently. The book mainly consists of 2 siblings who grew up together with there uncle. One day Ella observed and enchantress and just knew she wanted to be ome when she grew up. Her brother Miro was the best fighter in Altura especially with a blade. He joined the army and one day wanted to become a bladesinger. They use a substance called Lore which helps them use there magical powers. As an enchantress yoy have a cloak with runes on that when saying the correct enchantments will lightup and can literally protect you from anything. The same goes for Miro he uses his blade singer which is a weapon that can cut through anything when the correct enchantments are being said. The battles are gruesome but sound amazing also in one of Ellas classrs she has to learn an enchantment which can be abit disturbing. To finish this blog off once I finished reading this book I immideatly bought the second instalment. I would give this book an 8.5/10 just because of the slow start.
