The Painted man book one of the demon cycle. Peter V Brett #bookbloggerreviews

Set in a world where everyone is not allowed to be outside when it turns dark. There houses are covered in wards to protect themselves from horrible creatures/demons that rise from the ground to rain horror on a night time. These demons are elemental Earth Fire Wind and Water so have specific wards for each one. The build up is a bit slow but Peter keeps it where you don’t really notice and enjoy reading the book. The characters come into there own and help protect everyone from the demons. Arlen one of the main characters in the book has the biggest changes throughout. He starts off as a little boy afraid of his own shadow and turns into something spectacular which I’m not going to spoil so you will have to read the book to find out. I was very happy with this book and continued to read the rest of the series. I became a fan of Peter V Brett and will be blogging more about his other books. I would give this a 10/10 and thanks for reading my blog.
