Trying to use reddit

I thought I’d try Reddit out to help interact with other bloggers. So I downloaded the app signed up and now my brain is frazzled πŸ˜‚

I haven’t got a clue how to use reddit. I’m looking on YouTube but the videos aren’t really helping.

So could anyone of my amazing followers and bloggers help with this conundrum as it’s really confusing (or I’m just getting old πŸ˜‚)

  1. I use the “Reddit is fun” app. Reddit is comprised of “subreddits” which are topical, like /r/news, or /r/politics, or /r/bourbon. There are literally tens of thousands of them. You’ll get a good introduction to the now popular by going to /r/all or your frontpage. Almost everyone is there using aliases, which is strongly encouraged.

For the most part you’ll want to just read posts and comments until you get a handle on how it works and learn the proper “reddiquette.” It takes time, but there is a lot of really great information available and a lot of very helpful people. There are also a lot of jerks, as well as truly horrifying subreddits. Nothing I can write here can really do it justice. Spend some time there and see eggs it’s for you. Have fun, the rabbit home goes DEEP there!

  2. It’s basically a message board where collected content is brought into one place. The front page is usually a collection of subs you’re in.

Then you add comments or upvote things that you like/think should be seen.

Usually each place has their own rules/norms for their group. Like, in Casual Conversation if you create a post… you have to stay around and interact with people who reply. Can’t post and run.

May get more comfy with it by lurking and clicking through everything to get a feel for it. It was super weird when I first created an account.
