Strand of Faith
When the choice is between love and life, how can anyone decide?
A girl and a monk, both with extraordinary mental powers, have compelling reasons not to fall in love. But those from whom they expect support are manipulating them both because their choices will have consequences for the rest of the world.
After a stormy youth, Brother Prospero has found comfort and fulfilment in the monastery. That is, until he discovers something that forces him to reconsider his whole vocation. To follow his heart, he’ll have to face his demons again, outside the security of the monastery. Is it worth the risk? Can he beat them this time? Or will they finally destroy him?
Orphaned and mistreated, Leonie has found sanctuary and safety at the abbey. All she wants is to learn how to manage her unusual abilities so that she is not a danger to those around her. When she comes into contact with Prospero everything threatens to spiral out of her control. Whether she leaves or whether she stays, how can she possibly avoid destroying – yet again – those she has come to care about?
Abbot Gabriel is faced with an impossible choice. He can do nothing and watch the world descend into war. Or he can manipulate events and ensure peace – at the cost of two lives that he is responsible for. He knows what he has to do but is he strong enough to sacrifice those he loves?

Author Bio
Rachel J Bonner is the author of the four book Choices and Consequences series, the first of which, Strand of Faith, is due out in November 2018.
Getting a degree in engineering, followed by a career in accountancy is probably not a conventional path to becoming an author, particularly in paranormal romance. Rachel says that, although accountancy isn’t anything like as boring as everyone thinks, writing is a lot more fun. When not writing, she can be found walking in the beautiful countryside near where she lives, which has influenced much of the scenery in her books, or shooting things with her local archery club. Target shooting only, honest. Nothing to worry about.
She also enjoys swimming, eating chocolate chip cookies and growing aromatic herbs, especially thyme and rosemary. It’s no coincidence that her heroine likes the same things.

The LifeBlood of the ill fated woman.

I was lucky enough to recieve this book from the author himself (Kevin Breaux) and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The book kicks off with a warrior woman Astrid the white (someone who you wouldn’t want to mess with) The picture in my head when I think of Astrid is the main character in Horizon called Aloy anyway onto the review 😂

Astrid has awoke in a strange place that she’s never heard of. Even upon awakening Astrid has to defend herself and let her warrior skills take over.

Astrid walks to a town and is befriended by a warrior called Warren who takes Astrid in and tries to help her find her way back to her family and her homeland.

Astrid doesn’t take to her new surroundings she’s always getting into trouble and arguing with the elders about her homeland and they don’t believe a word she is saying.

For me Astrid was a person I could connect with straight away and enjoyed the character development of Astrid and her companions that she met on her way.

The book does have you gripped straight away. As I’m always thinking ahead to see how it will pan out but it never seems to go the way I think. That’s what I like about Kevin’s books. You’re literally sitting on the edge of your seat looking forward to the next page/paragraph and word to see whats going to happen.

If you haven’t read this or any other of Kevin’s books please go and check them out. Also one last thing the cover looks amazing. I want the actual book just to have in my book shelf 😂

Reading slump.

My reading atm has came to a complete stand still. Every time I pick up my book I fall asleep. The last book I read was the blood of the ill fated woman by Kevin Breaux (review pending) Now I just can’t seem to get back into the swing of things and it’s getting really frustrating. I really do love reading and very passionate about it. I even borrowed a book to my friend who hasn’t read a book for 20+ years that should be motivating enough. I’m hoping this passes over soon and I get back into the swing of reading again.

Stats

My stats have been horrendous while I’ve been away. I’m not saying I get high numbers but I thought I’d have more than I thought. I’m not usually one who follows stats. The only time I get a spike in numbers is when I’ve posted.

I’m not trying to sound like I’m complaining (even though it kind of does 🤣🤣)

One positive I actually gained a few new followers which I was very pleased about.

I’m going to get back into the swing of posting again as I’ve missed doing it. I do need to catch up with my reading as I’m so far behind 🤣🤣

Living life instead of just passing through it.

I recently realised that the past few months I’ve actually been living life and realised how amazing it actually is. I never noticed until I was sitting down and thought what I’ve actually done this year? I could only think of a couple of things which is really bad. I’ve literally been passing and getting through life like what I can only explain having an outer body experience but it being constant or just walking around like a zombie. I’m glad to say I’m kind of back to normal (even though I hate the word normal 🖕🏼) it’s so refreshing and hard that I’ve missed out so much. It nearly got to the point where I nearly split up with my partner. Even where I didn’t give a fuck  what happend. I kind of was pushing her away. I’m glad to say I stopped being a twat and got things sorted. This is just me rambling on but really appreciate everyone who reads this.

Has anyone else experienced this before or is it just me?

Becoming a Dad

I made this post for lilycafe which was on her blog. Please go and check her blog out.

Well what can I say 😀 the first words come to mine when I was with my daughter when were alone together (her Mam had gone for a wash) I was sitting in the chair looking at this beautiful fragile child (who had the hiccups) thinking Fuck!! I need to grow up and look after this little thing. During the pregnancy I never really thought about being up all night, getting sick on or changing multi coloured poops 😀 I honestly thought this would be easy when my partner was still pregnant. I think the first few days flew by as I was still on a high becoming a Dad. Then it finally settled in but we had a routine going which worked really well from the start.

I never used to drink coffee before my daughter came along but now I’m an avid drinker with anything that has caffeine in it 😂 I’ve never been so tired but you do get used to eat. I even have the odd nap during the day when she was asleep if I was really tired. For the first few months I only ever changed nappies as my partner breast feed. It was 3/4 months after my daughter was born when I fed her for the first time. It was an amazing experience. I’ve feed babies before but it’s not that same as your own child.

Days turn into weeks then months and years. It has been difficult I’m not going to say it was easy when it wasn’t. I think it made me and my partners relationship even more stronger. Your always learning as a parent as there isn’t a parent book you get to leave with from the hospital 🤣

I think I’ve grown as a person becoming a father. It is the best job in the world. My work patterns mean I miss out on a lot but I do make up for it when I get home. I will just go into her room and watch her sleep for a few minutes just so I’ve seen her. I didn’t think I could love something so little so much. Now I’m going to be a dad again in September and can’t wait even though I’ve got abit more of an idea what to expect this time.

If you’re a parent, what advice would you give to first time parents.

The tall man review

I was lucky enough to recieve a cooy of this book which I apppreciate so much.  This is a debut book by Phoebe Locke and she doesn’t dissapoint. This isn’t usually a genre I’d read but she has converted me 😀 from the first page to the last you will be hooked and you physically won’t be able to put this book down. There’s  nothing much more that I can say without giving away the story. So I don’t want todo that.  I would give this book a 4/5
