Fid’s Crusade Book Tour

FIDS-CRUSADE-Kindle

This is just a spotlight post but I’m looking forward to reading the book. The cover alone has piqued my interest. Also the synopsis has got me itching to read it. Please look out for other bloggers on the blog tour. Enjoy this post and leave me comments on what you all think.

Synopsis: Rage, grief and guilt have fueled Doctor Fid’s endless quest to punish the unworthy and he has left a long trail of blood and misery in his wake. For more than two decades, the sight of the villain’s powered armor has struck fear into the hearts of hero and civilian alike! But when a personal tragedy motivates Doctor Fid to investigate a crime, he uncovers a plot so heinous that even he is taken aback.

Haunted by painful memories and profound guilt, the veteran supervillain must race against time if he is to have any hope of confronting the approaching threat. Every battle takes its toll…but the stakes are too high for retreat to be an option.

In the end, it may take a villain to save the world from those entrusted with the world’s protection.

Blurb about David:

While growing up, David was that weird kid with his nose in a book and his head in the clouds. He was the table-top role-playing game geek, the comic-book nerd, the story-teller and dreamer.

Fortunately, he hasn’t changed much.

David is a software engineer by trade and a long-time sci-fi and fantasy devotee by passion, and he lives in Silicon Valley with his partner of twenty-seven years. Until recently, he also shared his life with a disturbingly spoiled cat named Freya.

(Farewell, little huntress. You were loved. You are missed.)

David’s first trilogy, The Chronicles of Fid, has just recently been completed; these were his first novel-length projects but they certainly won’t be his last—he’s having far too much fun!

The Amber Maze Blog Tour

THE AMBER MAZE

blurb

While staying in a Dorset cottage, Hugh Mullion finds a mysterious key down the side of an antique chair. No one can say how long the key has been there or what it opens.

Hugh’s search for answers will unlock the secrets of the troubled life of a talented artist, destined to be hailed a neglected genius fifty years too late. And no secret is darker than that of The Amber Maze, from whose malign influence he never escaped.

The trail takes Hugh from Edwardian Oxfordshire to 1960s Camden Town, where the ghosts of the past are finally laid to rest.

I cant think of anything more nerve wracking than being the first in this amazing blog tour. Please go and check the other bloggers on this tour. If the blurb doesmt get you intrigued in this book the hopefully my review of it will. Now I suppose I better get started on what you came here for.

Hugh has just moved into a beautiful cottage that hes renting. When he sits down on a chair some change falls out of his pocket. As he goes to retrieve it he stumbles on a really old key with a note attached to it that could of been there for years.

Now he becomes obsessed with this key and what it unlocks. He tries all the key holes in the house but doesnt have any luck. Something is driving him to find out what this key will unlock. This is great as it gets you the reader that intrigued you actually want to jump into the book and help Hugh with his situation. Hugh even goes to the extent of finding out who the chairs actually belonged to. Even they didnt know who this key belonged to. Now Hugh is on a clear mission take get this key into the right hole (no pun intended) The only people keeping him grounded are his wife and twins. Everytime Hugh solves a clue he must solve the next one. Its starting to become an obsession.

As the book begins to unfold with the help of some amazing people along the way. You and Hugh start to decipher the mysteries of this key and where it belongs. So much that I stayed up late to finish this book as I could not wait till the morning. The only bad thing I could say about this book is that its not long enough. I wanted more. I know the author has other books wriiten which Im going to have a look at and read.

The last thing Im going to talk about is the cover. Its perfect for this book the way its been presented is brilliant.

The book is quite short but dont let that stop you from reading it. Its a great refresher book in between series you maybe reading (which I was doing)

I’d give this book 4* out of 5 so its definitly worth a read. So go and buy this book NOW 🙂

Well thats me done. If youve made it this far than I appreciate it. Also like all Marvel films when it ends you have to read/watch all the credits. If you dont mind scrolling down and checking out the rest of this post. It has some information about the author you maybe interested in.

Thanks again @Yesmoreblogs

Strands of FaithStrand of Faith - prizesStrand of Faith Full Tour BannerStand of Faith - Front cover Faith

Strand of Faith
When the choice is between love and life, how can anyone decide?
A girl and a monk, both with extraordinary mental powers, have compelling reasons not to fall in love. But those from whom they expect support are manipulating them both because their choices will have consequences for the rest of the world.
After a stormy youth, Brother Prospero has found comfort and fulfilment in the monastery. That is, until he discovers something that forces him to reconsider his whole vocation. To follow his heart, he’ll have to face his demons again, outside the security of the monastery. Is it worth the risk? Can he beat them this time? Or will they finally destroy him?
Orphaned and mistreated, Leonie has found sanctuary and safety at the abbey. All she wants is to learn how to manage her unusual abilities so that she is not a danger to those around her. When she comes into contact with Prospero everything threatens to spiral out of her control. Whether she leaves or whether she stays, how can she possibly avoid destroying – yet again – those she has come to care about?
Abbot Gabriel is faced with an impossible choice. He can do nothing and watch the world descend into war. Or he can manipulate events and ensure peace – at the cost of two lives that he is responsible for. He knows what he has to do but is he strong enough to sacrifice those he loves?

Author Bio
Rachel J Bonner is the author of the four book Choices and Consequences series, the first of which, Strand of Faith, is due out in November 2018.
Getting a degree in engineering, followed by a career in accountancy is probably not a conventional path to becoming an author, particularly in paranormal romance. Rachel says that, although accountancy isn’t anything like as boring as everyone thinks, writing is a lot more fun. When not writing, she can be found walking in the beautiful countryside near where she lives, which has influenced much of the scenery in her books, or shooting things with her local archery club. Target shooting only, honest. Nothing to worry about.
She also enjoys swimming, eating chocolate chip cookies and growing aromatic herbs, especially thyme and rosemary. It’s no coincidence that her heroine likes the same things.
You can find out more about her books and sign up for Rachel’s newsletters at http://www.racheljbonner.co.uk.

Stats

My stats have been horrendous while I’ve been away. I’m not saying I get high numbers but I thought I’d have more than I thought. I’m not usually one who follows stats. The only time I get a spike in numbers is when I’ve posted.

I’m not trying to sound like I’m complaining (even though it kind of does 🤣🤣)

One positive I actually gained a few new followers which I was very pleased about.

I’m going to get back into the swing of posting again as I’ve missed doing it. I do need to catch up with my reading as I’m so far behind 🤣🤣

I’m back.

Well as the title suggests I’m back after taking a month of. I thought it would be hard but I’ve been so busy that I’ve never had time.

My partner done an amazing job giving birth to our baby daughter called Poppy Mae. She’s amazing and so proud of my eldest daughter. She’s been helping out and looking after her baby sister. I couldn’t have asked for it to be any better.

The only thing that has spoiled my time away was my car getting written off. We had very bad winds and some how we were unfortunate enough that a branch snapped off and landed on the car. luckily no body was harmed just really shook up.

I never realised how much I’d miss a car and how easy it actually is. We did use public transport and the odd taxi to basically pick up my daughter from school. Now we have had skimp and scrape to get a new car.

I’m going back to work on Monday and I’m kind of looking forward to getting back into some sort of structured routine. Being off all I’ve done is goto the gym and sleep 😂

Writing this has made me realise how much I’ve missed blogging. I’ve got so much to say so will hopefully have some more blogs posted.

I will end my post there as I can go on for a while and my daughter is starting to stir so will need to feed her.

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m going to try to read some of your blogs whan I get the chance 😁

End of August already.

This month has flown over. Feels like I’ve blinked and it’s September already. I’ve been abit quiet on here lately as I’ve been working more and getting stuff sorted before my partner gives birth.

I keep thinking I’ve hardly done any posts. Then I check my stats and noticed I’ve done 11 posts. This is probably the worst month I’ve had (numbers wise) but I’m not bothered about stats anymore.

I’ve done a few blog tours which I appreciate and love doing. I enjoy them as I’m discovering new author’s and genres of books that I’d never normally read.

I usually do blogger of the month aswell but for some reason it’s not showing up who has been the most active on my blog. So from last month it was Phantom Paper (who is an awesome blogger) be nice and go give her blog some love.

I’d like to welcome all my new followers. I’m checking everyone and looking through your blogs. They are amazing and getting some inspiration for future blog posts.

My newest follor is Becca-anne go and check her blog out (I’m busy reading it while trying to write this 🤣)

Hope September is a good blogging month for everyone. I’m looking forward to reading your posts 😁

Yes I know it’s abit late considering it’s halfway through September. Finally found out my partner is going to be taken into hospital on Friday to have the baby as it still hasn’t arrived. (I think it’s too comfortable inside there it doesn’t want to come out 😂)

I was going to say I’d try and blog if I can but I’m probably not as we are going to be busy. I will be reading some posts when it’s early hours in the morning when I’m dealing with the baby 🤣

Final few days.

So my partner is literally ready to have pur child anytime now. She’s due on the 5th of September and we are all excited. I can’t wait to see my daughter’s face when she sees her little brother/sister. So we’ve been frantically decorating and getting everything prepared for the arrival (I’m still not finished 🤣) I honestly can’t wait to see my new child. People keep asking me what I would like and honestly I’m not really bothered as long as Mrs and the baby are all ok. So I’ve lately been doing 14 hour shifts none stop just so I’ve got a decent enough wage to tide me over till i get back to work. I will be taking 4 weeks off. Which is a long time.

I will try to blog but probably won’t or a while. I’m just too busy at the moment. I’m still reading other bloggers posts and books. I will no doubt be reading more books if I’m up all night 🤣

I will try to get back to some consistency with my posts again once everything has settled.

Lastly I’d like to thank you all for being amazing. I know I’ve written this a few times but I do really appreciate everyone.

I will give the winner a choice of three books and they can pick any one of the three books. This will be UK only. This is just a little post. I hope you’re doing well.

Becoming a Dad

I made this post for lilycafe which was on her blog. Please go and check her blog out.

Well what can I say 😀 the first words come to mine when I was with my daughter when were alone together (her Mam had gone for a wash) I was sitting in the chair looking at this beautiful fragile child (who had the hiccups) thinking Fuck!! I need to grow up and look after this little thing. During the pregnancy I never really thought about being up all night, getting sick on or changing multi coloured poops 😀 I honestly thought this would be easy when my partner was still pregnant. I think the first few days flew by as I was still on a high becoming a Dad. Then it finally settled in but we had a routine going which worked really well from the start.

I never used to drink coffee before my daughter came along but now I’m an avid drinker with anything that has caffeine in it 😂 I’ve never been so tired but you do get used to eat. I even have the odd nap during the day when she was asleep if I was really tired. For the first few months I only ever changed nappies as my partner breast feed. It was 3/4 months after my daughter was born when I fed her for the first time. It was an amazing experience. I’ve feed babies before but it’s not that same as your own child.

Days turn into weeks then months and years. It has been difficult I’m not going to say it was easy when it wasn’t. I think it made me and my partners relationship even more stronger. Your always learning as a parent as there isn’t a parent book you get to leave with from the hospital 🤣

I think I’ve grown as a person becoming a father. It is the best job in the world. My work patterns mean I miss out on a lot but I do make up for it when I get home. I will just go into her room and watch her sleep for a few minutes just so I’ve seen her. I didn’t think I could love something so little so much. Now I’m going to be a dad again in September and can’t wait even though I’ve got abit more of an idea what to expect this time.

If you’re a parent, what advice would you give to first time parents.
